This 3cm-deep soapstone (steatite) box has two clasps. A magnificent hand-carved flower covers the whole lid. It can be used to store precious items (jewellery, keys, etc.). The lid motif is based on a design decorating one of the magnificent fireplaces in the King's Grand Apartments at the Château de Versailles.
