This worldwide reinterpretation, served by a first-rate cast, highlights a major work from the French operatic heritage.  Pyrrhus by Royer - famous for his marvellous and virtuoso compositions for harpsichord - was premiered at the beginning of the reign of Louis XV. This opera is one of the twenty-one "lyrical tragedies" on the theme of the Trojan War performed at the Royal Academy of Music between 1687 and 1730.
