"Water Theatre grove" notebook

4,90

The cover of this 64-page lined copybook is illustrated with the fountain sculptures made of Murano glass by contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel.

Following the international competition he won with landscape architect Louis Benech, the grove was redesigned. Created by André Le Nôtre, the Water Theatre Grove was the most sumptuous grove in the Palace gardens. Destroyed under Louis XVI, it gave way to a design with walkways that gave it the name of the “Green Round Grove”. The storms of 1990 and 1999 caused serious damage to the grove, which was replanted in 2003 as part of the Park’s major replanting plan.
