This notebook is illustrated with 18th-century shoes from the Lilian Williams collection.

Shoes matched the material of the clothes in the 18th- century. Embroidery and lace adorned the body of the shoe, while ribbons and loops decorated the pointed tips of the shoes. Women’s heels took on a curved shape before growing thinner before the French Revolution.
