This document sleeve is illustrated with drawings of the groves in the Garden of the Palace of Versailles, created by André Le Nôtre.

The groves, surrounded by tall trees, hide large open spaces, veritable “salons of greenery”. They contain fountains and water features, trellises, sculptures and small architectural ensembles. Le Nôtre expressed his genius and his creativity in the fifteen groves in the garden, combining plants and minerals. The groves were the setting of extraordinary festivities that made the Gardens of Versailles famous throughout Europe.
