This puzzle represents Marie-Antoinette with a rose, no doubt the most famous portrait of the Queen by Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun.
Louise-Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun was a French portraitist at the Court of Versailles. Her talent in painting flattering, realistic portraits drew Marie-Antoinette’s attention. She became the Queen’s official painter. All of her portraits sought to improve the Queen’s image as criticism of her became increasingly severe.
