In 1674, 24 statues in white marble were commissioned by Colbert to decorate the Water Parterre. Representing the seasons, the male and female figures show attributes that enable us to identify them. Representing the Spring, also called Flora, an allegorical goddess holds a basket of flowers, symbol of the renewal of nature.

Modelled by a Provencal craftsman, these terracotta crib figurines (santons) comply with the charter certified by the Santons de Provence label. They are sold exclusively in the Online Boutique. Each figurine measures 16 cm.

Notice to collectors: a set of six crib figurines representing the gardens of the palace of Versailles is available in the Online Boutique of the palace.
