André Le Nôtre was notably responsible for designing the layout of the grounds and gardens of the Château of Versailles, his supreme masterpiece, of Vaux-le-Vicomte for Nicolas Fouquet, and of Chantilly for the Grand Condé. His talents earned him an international reputation.
