The life of Riley

The animated short film La Vie de Château, to be released soon, is set in the Palace of Versailles. Based on this beautiful story, L'École des Loisirs is launching a series of books for children, the first volume of which is available in bookstores.
Violette is 8 years old, she is in CM1 and passionate about Egyptology. Her parents have just died... Geneviève, the social worker who looks after her, tells her that she will have to go and live with her uncle Régis, whom she hardly knows. Violette does not agree! However, here she is, arriving in her new home, nestled in the heart of the park of the Château de Versailles. Indeed, Régis is the head of the maintenance staff.

This gentle novel tells the story of how the little girl and her uncle learn to live together, surrounded by colorful characters (Malcolm, Violette's best friend; Geneviève, the social worker; Olga, Régis' colleague...). As for the Castle and its gardens, it will be for Violette a new -and wonderful- play and learning ground.
