The magazine Connaissance des Arts is publishing a special issue dedicated to the Royal Opera at Versailles. Produced in partnership with the Palace of Versailles, this special issue recounts the history of this part of the Palace.
Built for the marriage of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, the Royal Opera took years to design and has undergone many transformations over the years. This issue takes a look at the building’s architecture and machinery, as well as the musical history of the site that was reopened in 2009 after major restoration work.
