The Palace of Versailles is launching a new upcycling collection with the young French brand Le Lissier, which had made three models of sneakers in 2021 from the scenography fabrics of the exhibition "Hyacinthe Rigaud or the sun portrait".

Following the success of this first collection, the Palace asked the Lissiers to create two new models of sneakers with new fabrics of scenographies from past exhibitions. Offered in a limited edition, they can be pre-ordered now and until June 30th. After several weeks of handmade manufacturing by a team specialized in the production of hight quality shoes, delivery is scheduled for October.

This eco-responsible approach is in line with the Château de Versailles' desire, which has been in place for several years now, to reuse certain materials related to exhibitions and construction sites: signage, scenography and decorative tarpaulins.

The sets of these exhibitions come from fabrics elaborated with the famous Venetian house Rubelli. These fabrics were made with gold thread to evoke the refinement of the court of Versailles.

Responsible shoe designer in upcycled fabrics since 2019, Le Lissier focuses on handcrafting unique pairs of sneakers, designed in France and made in Portugal with leather from Italy. Giving new life to these exceptional fabrics is a real ethical and environmental commitment on the part of the designer.

The collaboration between the palace of Versailles and Le Lissier has resulted in two elegant pairs of trainers in different colours.
