The design on this hanger reproduces the hangings installed in 1786 in Queen Marie-Antoinette’s chamber. The Queen’s Chamber was the most important room in the Queen's Apartments. It was where the sovereign spent most of her time as she used it to receive the ladies of the Court every morning. It was also where she held private audiences and even gave birth to the heir to the throne.
