"Monogram of Louis XIV" wallet

79,00

This wallet bears the monogram of Louis XIV.

A monogram is composed of two copies of an initial that have been interwoven to form a single character, as with the letter L here for Louis. The monogram is considered a royal signature.

Royal emblems, such as the double L, the royal crown, the sceptre and the hand of justice, feature throughout the decor at Versailles. This monogram is notably found on the woodwork in the King's Apartments and the staircases.

The wallet has two spaces for storing cards and a large pocket that is perfect for notes. Made of full grain leather, it is hardwearing and pleasant to handle. The cutting, assembly, folding and packaging are carried out by hand using partly traditional methods.
