Make-up bag "Royal Chapel" - limited series

25,00

This make-up bag is part of a limited series made by using the banner that covered the west façade of the north wing of the Royal Chapel of Versailles, currently restored. Hand-picked and cut, each piece in this collection is unique.

Made entirely from recycled materials, it has a lock zip in metal, and it allows to put inside make-up products and to find them quickly.

These bags are manufactured by the eco-design company Bilum in workshops specialising in saddlery, leather goods and luggage. Apart from being sponge cleaned on each side, the restoration banner received no further processing.

The Royal Chapel of Versailles is a great masterpiece of sacred art and is undoubtedly the most accomplished part of the Palace. Building work for the Chapel began in 1687 under the direction of Jules Hardouin Mansart, and the project was completed by Robert de Cotte in 1710. More than forty years after its last major restoration, the Royal Chapel required urgent work on the roof, stone facing, statues and stained-glass windows.
