In 2019, as part of its Estate management plan and ecological approach, the Palace of Versailles installed eight beehives on the Estate of Trianon, in the Queen's Vegetable Garden. The lightly crystallised, creamy, floral honey is now available to try!

Along with summer flowers, lime tree and chestnut tree blossom are the principal sources for this honey, which combines the gentle flavour of the former with the much stronger flavour of the latter. The honey is produced by black bees from the Ile-de-France region, so it is also helping to safeguard local species and promote biodiversity.
