“Marriage of Louis XV and Marie Leszczynska” Medal – Arthus-Bertrand

The obverse side of this medal represents the profile of King Louis XV with the inscription LUDOVICUS XV REX CHRISTIANISS. (Louis XV, Most Christian King) and, on the reverse side, that of Queen Maria Leszczynska with the inscription MARIA REGIS STANISL. FIL. FR. ET NAV. REGINA V.SEPT.M.DCC.XXV (Maria, daughter of King Stanislas, Queen of France and Navarre, 5 September 1725). It is a replica of a medal engraved by Jean Duvivier, appointed medallist of King Louis XV in 1719.
