This medal evokes the clock overlooking the marble courtyard at the Palace of Versailles. Located above the King’s Chamber, this clock set the pace at Court, with three bells weighing from 95 to 1,150 kilos. In the centre is the face of Apollo, God of the Sun and emblem representing Louis XIV.
